How do I purchase Turnip?
Turnip is available exclusively on the Mac App Store. You can purchase a plan in the “Subscription” screen in Turnip’s settings. Turnip has two paid plans: Sprout (one account) and Blossom (unlimited accounts).
Turnip comes with a free 30 day trial of the Blossom plan’s features for all users.
Why the Mac App Store?
The Mac App Store is a pretty good platform for small developers like us.
Because we are a small company, Apple’s cut of our sales is only 15%, so we actually see more money from a sale on the Mac App Store than we do when we sell on other platforms like Paddle. We noticed this when comparing proceeds from our other Mac App, Mic Drop.
We think it offers a more seamless user experience for the majority of Mac users—you don’t need to enter your credit card info to pay for Turnip, you can change/cancel your subscription from inside the App, from the Mac App Store app on your Mac, or from your iOS device. You also never have to enter/remember a license key, deactivate licenses, etc.
I can’t use the Mac App Store!
If you can’t use the Mac App Store due to IT restrictions, please drop us a line and let us know. If there’s enough interest, we can see about maintaining a second version.
What if I don’t use a Mac?
Right now, we’re focussed primarily on building a great app for the Mac. It’s a platform we know and love ourselves, and it’s good to start with familiarity.
That said, we’re definitely interested in extending Turnip to other devices or operating systems in the future if demand is sufficient. If you’d love to see Turnip on a different platform, drop us a line to let us know!
What happens when my subscription expires?
Cancelling your subscription doesn’t remove time slips from your integration or delete any data. If your subscription expires, you can still use Turnip’s free features, and you can reactivate your subscription at any time to restore access to your integrations and time slip history.
